MFA: Mother and two children evacuated from Gaza

Skopje, 23 January 2024 (MIA) — North Macedonia has now evacuated all of its citizens stranded in Gaza, after the last three Macedonian nationals there, a mother with two children who had previously stayed in the war-torn enclave by their own choice, sought to be evacuated as Israeli attacks continue unabated.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a press release, the family has been safely evacuated to Cairo, Egypt, and will soon be arriving in North Macedonia.

They were the last Macedonian citizens to contact North Macedonia's diplomatic consular missions in Cairo and Tel Aviv asking to be evacuated.

In the release, the MFA thanks the International Organization for Migration for helping with the evacuees' travel arrangements from Cairo to Skopje.

In case any other nationals of North Macedonia are stranded in Gaza, the release urges them to call the MFA's SOS phone line 075/273-732 or 075/268-736.

They can also call the Embassy in Tel Aviv (+972-54-926-7378) or the Embassy in Cairo (+201-03-361-5542) for help. mr/
