MFA: Driver of Macedonian tourist bus dies in accident in Italy, 12 passengers suffer minor injuries

Skopje, 4 April 2024 (MIA) – The driver of a tourist bus, a Macedonian national with the initials R.I. born in 1965, died in a traffic accident in Italy. Twelve of the passengers on the bus, all Macedonian nationals, suffered minor injuries, the Foreign Ministry said in a press release Thursday.

The tourist bus, operated by a travel agency from North Macedonia, was involved in an accident which occurred on the motorway between the cities of Ascoli Piceno and Ancona in Italy, the MFA said, citing information it received from North Macedonia’s Embassy in Rome.

“Through its Embassy in Rome, the Ministry remains in constant communication with the relevant institutions in Italy which are working to clear up the case,” the Ministry said.
