MFA advises against travel to storm-affected areas in Greece

Skopje, 6 September 2023 (MIA) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) advises Macedonian nationals against travel to areas in Greece affected by the rainstorm, and to stay safe until evacuation is possible. MFA notes that according to information from the Embassy in Athens, so far, one Macedonian national is in the city of Volos, safe in a local hotel.

 

"We inform you that the diplomatic and consular offices of the Republic of North Macedonia in Greece are in constant communication with the competent institutions, with the aim of providing assistance to our citizens who are in the affected areas," the MFA said, expressing condolences to the families of the victims of the heavy storm that affected Greece.

 

The MFA adds that Macedonian nationals can also contact the Foreign Ministry via its SOS line at +389 75 273 732, as well as the 24/7 line of the Embassy in Athens +306944743071 and the General Consulate in Thessaloniki + 30 6987200410.
