Mexico to remain on Formula One calendar until 2025
Berlin, 28 October 2022 (dpa/MIA) - The Mexico City Grand Prix at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez is to remain on the Formula One calendar until at least 2025, F1 said on Thursday.
The race in Mexico returned to the calendar in 2015, following a break between 1992 and 2014.
This year's Mexico City GP takes place on Sunday and the event is set to attract 350,000 fans over three days.
"I am very pleased to announce that Formula 1 will continue to race in Mexico City for another three years under this new agreement," F1 president Stefano Domenicali said.
"Every year the race attracts a large number of passionate fans, and the atmosphere is incredible, and I know everyone will be excited by this news."
Champion Max Verstappen of Red Bull heads to Mexico chasing what would be a record-breaking 14th win of the season, having equalled Sebastian Vettel's record of 13 in the United States last week.
