Skopje, 20 December 2023 (MIA) - It is time to put an end to the mindset that immunization or vaccines have some defect. That is why we have professionals and healthcare workers. I urge citizens to vaccinate their children against measles, Minister of Health Fatmir Mexhiti said on Wednesday.

He added that the Health Ministry is currently working on immunization awareness education.

"We are working on this problem every day, cooperating with UNICEF, USAID, with support from EU, and we recently immunized around 3,600 patients against measles with the 'door-to-door' campaign. We outlined roadmaps and education on proper immunization to raise awareness in all citizens. Around 8,000 roadmaps have been sent out so far. We are working on this issue every day, following experiences from all EU states on how to encourage citizens to immunize their children. Naturally, more needs to be done, people should be convinced, there is no other way," Mexhiti said.
