Mexhiti: Won’t go where the destructive opposition wants to take us

Skopje, 14 September 2024 (MIA) - The draft-law for the veterans is one of the initiatives of the destructive opposition DUI, and in this case the abused SDSM, since this same SDSM fought for a civil concept until recently, said First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Environment Izet Mexhiti on Saturday, adding that they won’t go where the opposition wants to take them.
The Government, he said, will grant a billion euro for solutions to the real issues of all municipalities and citizens in the country, noting that issues like the law for the veterans won’t be a priority.
“In the eight years they were in power, they didn’t have such initiatives for the veterans. Until yesterday, they were fighting for a civil concept, they had Albanian voters, had Albanian high officials in their structures, so it is a real dilemma why SDSM needs this initiative to veer into extreme nationalism. But this tendency, too, will be just like all other failed initiatives for destabilization just to escape accountability,” Mexhiti said in answer to a journalist’s question.
Asked whether Worth It will support the law for the veterans, Mexhiti said the focus of the Government is the fight against corruption.
“The focus of this Government is the fight against corruption, which is a cancer in this society. That fight will be uncompromising in order to restore trust in the judiciary. The main focus will also be economic development and the standard of the citizens, with a special emphasis on decentralization,” Mexhiti stressed.
