Skopje, 15 June 2023 (MIA) — On behalf of North Macedonia's Presidency with the Migration, Asylum, Refugees Regional Initiative (MARRI), Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Regional Anti-corruption Initiative (RAI) at the sidelines of the Prespa Forum Dialogue held in Struga. He also held a bilateral meeting with Amy Pope, Director General of the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

According to an official press release, the memorandum recognizes the importance of cooperation between regional organizations dedicated to the process of accession to the European Union and to promoting good governance, stability and security as well as social and economic development in Southeast Europe.

It aims to promote cooperation in preventing and fighting against corruption and human trafficking, sharing of knowledge and expertise, and avoiding overlapping of activities, according to the Interior Ministry press release.

During Minister Spasovski's meeting with IOM head Pope, he gave thanks for the continued presence of IOM representatives at the Macedonian-Greek border.

They both confirmed their commitment to deepening the ongoing cooperation toward the strengthening of national capacities. mr/
