Skopje, 11 January 2026 (MIA) - The repeat mayoral elections being held Sunday in the municipalities of Gostivar, Mavrovo Rostushe, Vrapchishte, and Centar Zhupa, are taking place in a peaceful, fair, and democratic atmosphere, the Interior Ministry said in a post on its official social media profile.

The Interior Ministry said it is taking all activities to ensure a smooth and safe electoral process.

“So far, no incidents or any other disruptions of public peace and order have been registered. We urge all citizens and political parties to contribute to a peaceful and democratic atmosphere,” MoI spokesperson Goce Andreevski said, calling on the citizens to report any disruptions.
