May average net wage up 8.8 pct: statistics
Skopje, 20 July 2021 (MIA) – According to State Statistical Office data, the average monthly net wage paid per employee in May 2021 stands at Mden 28,721, a 8.8% (Mden 2,331) increase compared to the same month last year, the government said in a press release on Tuesday. This increase is caused by the increase of the average monthly net wage paid per employee in the sectors: Arts, entertainment and recreation (29.0%), Accommodation and food service activities (28.7%) and Other service activities (14.4%). An increase in the average monthly net wage paid per employee compared to the previous month was recorded in the sectors Accommodation and food service activities (7.0%), Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (5.5%) and Water supply; sewerage, waste management and remediation activities (5.3%). The three sectors with highest monthly net wage paid per employee are: IT and communication, financial and insurance services, as well as electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply. “State Statistical Office data confirms wage growth, a result of the government’s economic measures and policies aiming to boost the average and minimum wage. The average net wage has increased by 25.93% since June 2017 when it stood at Mden 22,808. We’re committed to achieving 4-5% economic growth and 20-30% salary increase, in order to improve the economic and living standard in the country,” the press release read.
