Matias Diaz Hernandez from Argentina wins 35th Ohrid Swimming Marathon
Ohrid, 10 September 2022 (MIA) – Matias Diaz Hernandez from Argentina is the winner at the Ohrid Swimming Marathon in Saturday’s 25 km-long St. Naum-to-Ohrid-harbor race.        “The race was very difficult, because the water was cold and there were waves. I’m very happy that I won,” Hernandez said.  Of eight swimmers in the competition, including seven man and only one woman, Francesco Ghettini from Italy won second place, and Evgenij Pop Acev from North Macedonia came out third.   “It’s difficult every time. The race is long, at the end there were waves and it was difficult. The final hour was really hard. I’m happy with the second place. The water wasn't very cold, but it still was cold. Good race, I'm very happy,” Ghettini said after the race.  The Ohrid Swimming Marathon 2022 is held under the auspices of the Municipality of Ohrid, the National Swimming Federation and the Agency for Youth and Sports. It has been an annual event since 1992.
