Marichikj-Mogherini: Cooperation with College of Europe activated to support EU accession process
Skopje, 24 November 2022 (MIA) – Deputy PM for European Affairs and Chief Negotiator with the EU, Bojan Marichikj, met with College of Europe Rector Federica Mogherini, the former High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, in Bruges on Thursday. Marichikj and Mogherini discussed the opportunities for enhancement of cooperation within the already signed Memorandum of Understanding, via various courses, trainings and projects that would bring the process of EU accession negotiations closer, the Secretariat for European Affairs said in a press release. “Support by the College of Europe in enhancing the capacities of the Macedonian administration will be of enormous significance for the Euro-integration process. Activation of the memorandum of understanding is a good sign of our commitment and will to successfully complete the negotiating process,” Marichikj told the meeting and voiced assurance that cooperation would develop in a positive direction, followed by tangible results during the EU accession process. Rector Mogherini expressed satisfaction from the initiative to activate the memorandum and the possibility of cooperation amid North Macedonia’s EU accession negotiations. The Secretariat and the College signed the memo in 2016, relating to exchange of knowledge and experiences, academic research, education and expert specialization of the Secretariat administration, in line with the capacities and resources of both institutions.
