Skopje, 30 April 2022 (MIA) — The government wants a document that clearly outlines the obligations of North Macedonia and Bulgaria, so there are no new demands after resolving current issues, Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs Bojan Marichikj said in a TV appearance on Friday night. Speaking in the 360 Degrees TV show, Deputy PM Marichikj said the government remained committed to talks with Bulgaria and finding a solution to its veto for North Macedonia’s start of EU accession negotiations. He also reiterated the official position regarding the Constitution. “On changing the Constitution, we have clearly said that in terms of content we have no problem with any community being incorporated in the Constitution, but we believe doing this is neither useful nor possible before we start negotiations with the EU. “We don’t think changing the Constitution should be a precondition for starting negotiations, because to do that we need more time to build trust," Marichikj said. Resolving the dispute with Bulgaria, he said, required a European solution, based on European values, without binding time frames and dates. “Time frames and dates don’t work,” Marichikj said. “However, this doesn’t mean we have endless patience for talks. The longer we wait, the less determined and energetic we will be to resolve this.” "Our guide in the talks is the Resolution adopted by Parliament, which was voted for by all parties. We will not agree to any solution that is outside that document," he added. mr/
