Marichikj: Peace, stability and security are ensured for our country
Skopje, 18 August 2022 (MIA) – Deputy PM for European Affairs Bojan Marichikj led Thursday a government delegation including Minister of Interior Oliver Spasovski and Deputy Defense Minister Bashkim Hasani, who laid wreaths at the Butel partisan cemetery and at the graves of General Mihailo Apostolski and Presidents and Supreme Commanders of the Armed Forces Kiro Gligorov and Boris Trajkovski, on the occasion of the Day of the Army.   “Their work and commitments are our legacy and our duty to continue developing our country in peace, building a prosperous North Macedonia, with a European future of which we will all be proud,” Deputy PM Marichikj posted on Facebook.   Marichikj extended congratulations on the Day of the Army, thanking the members of the Army for their commitment in performing all duties, their professional and selfless engagement in protecting the country’s territorial integrity and security, and pointing out that the most important thing is that North Macedonia’s peace, stability and security are ensured.   “After 30 years of development and challenges, today the Army is a modern and capable structure that successfully passed all tests it was set with in the process of Euro-Atlantic integration. Today, the Macedonian Army can equally stand with modern armed forces and partners in the most powerful military alliance – NATO,” Marichikj said.   According to the Deputy PM, today is also an opportunity to remember all those who in different periods of time, often laying their lives on the altar of freedom, laid the foundations of Macedonian statehood.   In addition to the government delegation, delegations of the Parliament, the Ministry of Defense, the Army of North Macedonia, the President’s office, the Union of Fighters of the National Liberation War, as well as the office of former president Gjorgje Ivanov laid wreaths at the Butel partisan cemetery and at the graves of General Mihailo Apostolski and Presidents and Supreme Commanders of the Armed Forces Kiro Gligorov and Boris Trajkovski.
