Marichikj - Gorčević: Regional cooperation and Growth Plan as opportunity for accelerated EU-integration process

Skopje, 16 May 2024 (MIA) - Deputy Prime Minister for European affairs, Bojan Marichikj, met Thursday with the Montenegrin Minister of European Affairs, Maida Gorčević, on the sidelines of the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans summit in Kotor, said the Secretariat for European Affairs in a press release.
At the meeting, the ministers spoke about the importance of regional cooperation and successful implementation of the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans.
“The Growth Plan is a concrete strategy for socioeconomic development of the region, cooperation and convergence of the Western Balkan countries. The fulfillment of the obligations harmonized with the European Union will mean significant development, progress and prosperity of the country and the region,” the Secretariat said.
Marichikj voiced gratitude over the successful and fruitful cooperation for the implementation of regional cooperation and excellent relations between the two countries.
“In order to successfully implement the Growth Plan, it is essential that the countries continue to work in cooperation with the European Commission with the goal of achieving the strategic goal of EU accession,” the Secretariat said.
