Marichikj: EC Report will guide new reforms
Skopje, 12 October 2022 (MIA) — Another positive progress report from the European Commission, including accurate mapping of the areas the country needs to focus on to take a big step forward to the EU, Deputy Prime Minister of European Affairs Bojan Marichikj said in a Facebook post commenting on the EC's 2022 Progress Report on North Macedonia. The Europe minister attended the government meeting Wednesday when EU Ambassador David Geer handed the EC’s annual report on North Macedonia’s progress to Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski. The report is the first one to be released after the country’s start of accession talks with the European Union. “At the meeting, European Ambassador Geer conveyed the messages from the European Commission welcoming the start of the negotiation process, the holding of the intergovernmental conference, and the efforts we are making to speed up our EU journey,” Marichikj wrote. “This new report, with all its remarks on North Macedonia’s progress, comes during the screening process and will indubitably guide our new reforms,” he noted. mr/
