Macedonians deserve a much better president and prime minister, says Siljanovska-Davkova

Kavadarci, 6 April 2024 (MIA) – They are afraid ahead of these elections, don’t trust their words, only their actions, VMRO-DPMNE’s presidential candidate Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova said at a rally in Kavadarci, where she spoke about pressing issues in several areas.

“I think it’s finally time for us to do something and restore our pride, and we have many things that can make us proud,” she said, adding that the country has never been more divided.

At the rally in Kavadarci, Siljanovska-Davkova also spoke about environmental protection as an issue, which, she said, affects her.

On Saturday, Siljanovska-Davkova also held a rally in Negotino, where she opposed the notion that every nation deserves its government, “the Macedonians deserve a much better president and prime minister than the ones currently leading them”.

“I don’t think you deserve this government, this should change and after these presidential elections I pledge to do what you expect of me. Each day I will prove to you that my legitimacy stems from you, and no one else,” she said.

The presidential candidate stressed that currently in the country there exist “two states in one, two parliaments, two prime ministers”.

At the rallies in Negotino and Kavadarci, VMRO-DPMNE’s leader Hristijan Mickoski said Stevo Pendarovski would be remembered for being “a commenter that comments on things that have happened, without doing something to change the circumstances.”

He said the coming elections are a chance for the country to elect a president it truly deserves.

“The current president is a person who says if he wasn’t president, he too would have left the country. He should be ashamed,” Mickoski said.

The leader of the main opposition party criticized the government over “a lack of real projects”.

The rally in Kavadarci was also addressed by VMRO-DPMNE’s list principal in the fourth electoral district, Aleksandar Nikoloski, who said the people want changes. He said the party would achieve its best result yet in the fourth electoral district.
