Macedonian, Serbian church officials to hold joint Ilinden liturgy at monastery 
Belgrade, 1 August 2022 (MIA) - Bishops of the Macedonian Orthodox Church - Ohrid Archbishopric and the Serbian Orthodox Church on Tuesday will hold a joint liturgy to mark St. Ilija Day at St. Prohor Pchinski monastery where Ilinden (Republic Day) will be also marked at an event attended by a state delegation, led by President Stevo Pendarovski, MIA has learned. The Macedonian community in Serbia will also mark Ilinden at St. Prohor Pchinski monastery, now in Serbia, because August 2 has been declared a state holiday of the Macedonian minority in Serbia. The first session of the Anti-fascist Assembly for the National Liberation of Macedonia (ASNOM) was held at St. Prohor Pchinski on August 2, 1944. In addition to President Stevo Pendarovski, the delegation will also include Defense Minister Slavjanka Petrovska, MPs Miroslav Jovanovikj and Lidija Tasevska, Metropolitan of Kumanovo Grigorij, church officials and representatives of the WWII Veterans' Association. The event will be also attended by Serbian Foreign Minister Nikola Selakovic and Bishop of Vranje Pahomije.
