Skopje, 1 February 2024 (MIA) - Women MPs from Armenia and North Macedonia held a virtual meeting on Thursday organized by the National Democratic Institute (NDI).

The goal of the meeting was to exchange experience regarding women's rights, women in politics and their discrimination, with focus on the functioning of the Club of Women MPs, the Parliament said in a press release.

Macedonian women MPs Lolita Ristova, Ljatife Shikovska and Lidija Petkovksa briefed the Armenian women MPs on the work of the Club of Women MPs, the way women are organized in Parliament, legal solutions initiated to improve women's rights, and the challenges they face.

As a result of the constructive discussion, the press release adds, interlocutors decided to continue the exchange of experience in the future with the aim of strengthening women's position in politics. ssh/nn/
