Macedonian actor Marin Babić dies aged 74
Skopje, 16 October 2022 (MIA) – Macedonian film, theater and TV actor Marin Babić died late Saturday in Skopje after short illness. He was 74.   He spent most of his career at the Skopje Drama Theater after he first became part of it in 1971. He was also cast in plays produced by other theaters and projects.   On stage, he played in “The Imaginary Invalid”, “Crimes of the Heart”, “Thessaloniki Partridges”, “A Weekend of Deceased Persons”, “Danton’s Death”, “Amadeus”, “The Demon of Debar Maalo”, etc.   On TV, Babić starred in celebrated 1980s Macedonian children’s show “The Unruly Alphabet”, Slobodan Unkovski’s “Tattooed Souls”, “Goodbye, 20th Century” directed by Darko Mitrevski and Aleksandar Popovski, etc.   Babić also had a radio career with a late night show airing on Radio Skopje, and later a radio cooking show airing on Radio Ravel. He will also be remembered as the creator of the “Actors are Singing” event, the poetry series “Bebuli”, and his masterful renditions of contemporary poetry.   The funeral will take place at the new Prilep-based city cemetery on October 18 (Tuesday).
