Macedonia, United States hold Strategic Dialogue session in Washington
- The second session of the North Macedonia – United States Strategic Dialogue will be held Tuesday in Washington after a four-year hiatus.
Skopje, 7 April 2026 (MIA) – The second session of the North Macedonia – United States Strategic Dialogue will be held Tuesday in Washington after a four-year hiatus.
The high-level government delegation, headed by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski, also includes Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski, Defense Minister Vlado Misajlovski, Minister for Digital Transformation Stefan Andonovski and Energy Minister Sanja Bozhinovska.
"The Strategic Dialogue is an important platform for deepening bilateral cooperation and promoting the partnership with the United States, with a focus on key areas of mutual interest, including defence and security, cybersecurity and technological cooperation, economy, trade and energy, as well as joint fight against transnational threats, and strengthening border security," the Foreign Ministry said in a press release.
The Ministry notes that the holding of the second Strategic Dialogue reaffirms the alliance between the two countries and the common commitment to promoting stability, security and prosperity in the region and beyond.
In a recent interview, Mucunski said North Macedonia will be the first country in Europe to hold a strategic dialogue session in Washington under this administration. He expressed expectation that the Strategic Dialogue will open serious discussions in the areas of defence and security, trade and economic cooperation, as well as bring concrete benefits to citizens.
