Skopje, 27 February 2023 (MIA) – The Public Revenue Office (UJP), through the Ministry of Finance, submitted the amendments to the “My VAT” measure for scanning receipts, which increase the amount provided to the citizens as part of the VAT refunds, and they are now in a parliamentary procedure, confirmed UJP Director Sanja Lukarevska on Monday.
“Once the discussion over the government reshuffle ends, the proposed amendments should be on the agenda and see the light of day. As soon as the amendments are adopted in Parliament, we will adapt the system and provide larger refunds to the citizens,” said Lukarevska in answer to a journalist’s question at a press conference on Monday.
The application “My VAT” allows the citizens to scan receipts and receive a refund of a portion of the VAT that they’ve paid when buying products. Currently the citizens could receive a maximum amount of Mden 1.800 in VAT refunds every three months, with the amendments this figure is increased to Mden 2.100.
Lukarevska also noted that the Ministry of Finance has submitted a draft version of the list of luxury products which should undergo a VAT increase to the economic chambers.
“In the coming period the Ministry of Finance should publish the list on their website,” said Lukarevska. ad/sk/
