Skopje, 31 December 2025 (MIA) - Luka and Hana are the most popular boy and girl names of 2024, official statistics show.

According to the latest issue of the State Statistical Office publication "North Macedonia in Figures 2025", other popular names given to newborn boys, besides Luka, were Damjan, Matej, Marko, Mihail, Jakov, David, Jovan, Petar and Mateo. 

The most popular girl names, after Hana, were Jana, Sofija, Dua, Ana, Jovana, Mia, Mila, Sara, and Bisera. 

Latest figures released by the State Statistical Office show that the number of live births in the country in 2024 was 16,061, including 8,277 male babies and 7,784 female babies.
