Skopje, 21 April 2023 (MIA) - German airline 'Lufthansa' will launch on Sunday the Skopje-Frankfurt flight at the Skopje International Airport, marking the airline's entry in the Macedonian market. 

The launch of the new flight will be marked with an event as the first Lufthansa plane from Frankfurt lands at the Skopje Airport, TAV Macedonia said in a press release. 

Minister of Transport and Communications, Blagoj Bochvarski, German Ambassador to North Macedonia, Petra Drexler, TAV Macedonia Director General, Metin Batak, and Lufthansa Group's Peter Pullem are to address the event. 

The new Skopje-Frankfurt flight is realized with government subsidies. Lufthansa will fly to Frankfurt ten times a week as of April 23. 

Lufthansa's flight to Frankfurt will connect passengers to more than 200 destinations in Europe and the world. 

In addition, Wizz Air will fly to Luxembourg, Stuttgart, Salzburg and Ljubljana using government subsidies, starting November 1 and flying three times a week.
