Skopje, 7 April 2023 (MIA) — Justice Minister Krenar Lloga met Friday with Centar Municipality Mayor Goran Gerasimovski and was briefed on the municipal initiative for the confiscation of illegal constructions and their potential repurpose, according to a Ministry of Justice press release.

Minister Lloga voiced his support for Mayor Gerasimovski's initiative to find a legal solution regarding buildings constructed without permits by way of confiscating and repurposing them to serve the public.

Two laws would need to be amended toward that aim, the release says. They are the Law on Legalizing Illegally Constructed Buildings and the Law on Management of Seized Property, Property Gains and Objects Seized in Criminal and Misdemeanor Procedures. mr/
