Skopje, 7 January 2026 (MIA) – SDSM leader Venko Filipche extended Christmas greetings to Orthodox believers on Wednesday, wishing them peaceful and joyful festivities.
“I wish all believers who celebrate this holiday today to have peaceful and joyful festivities. This is a traditional occasion for families and loves ones to gather, to show respect and care. I hope the day passes in peace, because in these turbulent times peace is what we need in order to continue building a society that is just, tolerant, and free,” Filipche told journalists after attending the Christmas liturgy held at Skopje’s St. Clement of Ohrid church.

Filipche urged the citizens to jointly build a society in which no one is discriminated.
“In the past we implemented policies which the citizens could really feel, they could live better, be safer and richer, and which made young people see their future in the country. We introduced policies befitting developed societies, where no one would feel less valued, regardless of ethnic, national, religious, cultural, gender, or sexual orientation,” Filipche said.
