Skopje, 30 March 2024 (MIA) - The largest Macedonian parties will present this weekend the lists of MP candidates for the upcoming parliamentary elections. Opposition VMRO-DPMNE and the coalition 'Your Macedonia' announced a convention for Saturday to present the candidates for MPs, while SDSM is expected to present the MP candidate lists of the 'Coalition for European Future' on Sunday.   

Ahead of the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections, five coalitions are already defined, as well as two parties that will be running independently.

With less than a week until the official start of the election campaign, the SDSM-led 'Coalition for European Future', the VMRO-DPMNE-led coalition 'Your Macedonia', the GROM-led coalition 'Brave for Macedonia', DUI's 'European Front' and the 'Worth it' coalition of the ethnic Albanian opposition bloc have been set. 

According to the announcements so far, ZNAM Movement: For Our Macedonia and the Levica party will be running independently. 

Political parties and coalitions are to submit the MP candidate lists to the State Election Commission (SEC) by April 2. The elections are scheduled for May 8. The first round of the presidential elections will be held on April 24.
