Kovachevski-Tiganj: Croatia supports N. Macedonia’s European perspective
Skopje, 9 February 2022 (MIA) – Clear and strong support for the European perspective of North Macedonia was expressed at a meeting Wednesday of Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski with Croatian Ambassador Nives Tiganj.
North Macedonia, it was noted, should integrate into the EU in addition to being admitted to NATO because it is of great importance for the region and the bloc as well.
The interlocutors said a solution is expected to be found by North Macedonia and Bulgaria, which paves the way for the opening of EU accession negotiations, the government said.
“We have established mutual respect as we are working on solutions based on European values. It depends on both sides whether the energy will be translated into a constructive dialogue. However, there is positive energy in talks and openness for mutual respect,” said PM Kovachevski.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of North Macedonia and Croatia establishing diplomatic ties, said the press release.
