Kovachevski: Unity in foreign policy stems from parliamentary declarations and resolutions
Novaci, 17 February 2022 (MIA) – North Macedonia’s Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacheski said the country’s positions as regards the foreign policy are united and clearly set out within the declarations and resolutions adopted in Parliament. “The positions of North Macedonia in terms of unity, both inside the country and outside in international policy, are very clearly defined in our constitution, and are also very clearly set out within the declarations and resolutions adopted in our Parliament to which we adhere. Thus, I can say we absolutely stand by the positions adoptedin the Parliament of the Republic of North Macedonia,” PM Kovachevski told reporters after Thursday’s cornerstone-laying ceremony for a new 400 kV transmission line from Bitola to the Macedonian-Albanian border. Kovachevski also commented on a reporter’s question on reports about an appointment of a new consul to the U.S., reiterating the Foreign Ministry’s position from earlier on Thursday that North Macedonia already has a consul there. “As regards yesterday’s reports in the media, and in answer to your question, North Macedonia already has a consul to New York, i.e. in New Jersey, who is a career diplomat, Jordan Panev, he is in his term of office and there are no plans to replace him at this point. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also had a press release on this,” said Kovachevski.
