Skopje, 26 May 2023 (MIA) - The best confirmation that the construction of the corridors is an infrastructure project developed in line with the law came from the ones that VMRO-DPMNE called to answer - the United States Embassy, said Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski on Friday.

"All those lies, hysteria created in media, all that hindrance you are trying to make has yielded no results except for staining the largest global consortium that has built not only the biggest roads in the region but also beyond," PM Kovachevski told a Q&A session in Parliament.

Referring to the economic aspect of the corridors' construction, the PM reiterated it is a strategic project of national interest, set to make the country a crossroad on the Balkans.

"This means connections with the Durres and Burgas ports, because the Thessaloniki port has held the monopoly until now. This project will also produce enormous benefits for the Macedonian economy, opening 8,000 jobs and EUR 1.3 billion in investments that will lead to an annual nominal GDP growth of at least two percent over the next five years," said Kovachevski.
