Kovachevski to travel to Abu Dhabi on Tuesday for meetings with investment funds
Skopje, 15 October 2022 (MIA) – Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski said in an interview with Alsat TV’s 360 Degrees show late Friday that he is traveling to Abu Dhabi on Tuesday for meetings with major investment funds. Kovachevski added that the contacts and the preparations for the meetings have been ongoing over the past several months.   “These are really major investment funds. For the country, it is better to go and talk to the investment funds, given that there are already countries that have provided more favorable financing than what is offered here in Europe, precisely from the destination where we are going,” Kovachevski noted.   According to Kovachevski, he will head a delegation made of the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Agriculture and the Minister of Transport and Communications. He added that two more people will be traveling with him in addition to the ministers.    “One security guard will be joining me, and there may be one cabinet officer, and that would be the whole delegation. There’s no need for more people,” the PM said.   Kovachevski said the government delegation in Abu Dhabi has already scheduled meetings with four investment funds to present a possible Eurobond for next year. He added that the goal is to provide interest rates for financing the state on more favorable terms than what is available on the multilateral financial markets.   Commenting on relations with DUI, Kovachevski said they were extremely correct. He added that he has particularly productive and professional relations with DUI’s ministers in the Government.  According to the PM, it is too early to talk about whether the party will run together with DUI at the next elections, as they are expected to be held in 2024.   At the moment the focus should be on implementing the government's program, by unblocking the Parliament and participating in the obligations that the country has in terms of joining the European Union as soon as possible, Kovachevski said among other.
