Skopje, 2 December 2023 (MIA) - The ATS AMMO factory will soon produce the first Macedonian drone, compliant with all NATO standards, announced Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski during Saturday’s visit to the factory in Makedonski Brod. With him were Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Fatmir Bytyqi and Defence Minister Slavjanka Petrovska.

“Very soon, ATS AMMO factory is to commence serial production of four types of drones. AI-controlled with high precision. They will be fully equipped according to all NATO standards. These will be the first Macedonian drones, entirely manufactured in the Republic of North Macedonia,” Kovachevski said.

The drones, as he noted, will be multifunctional.

"The drones will serve multiple purposes in the defence industry, reconnaissance, and industrial applications. This is a significant achievement," Defence Minister Slavjanka Petrovska added.

In addition, currently, there are 40 Macedonian firms that meet NATO production standards.
