Kovachevski strongly condemns attack against police, violence can never be justified
Skopje, 6 July 2022 (MIA) – Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevski condemned the attacks on the police officers during the protest late on Tuesday, pointing out that although protests are a democratic right, violence can never be justified. “What happened last night in front of the Parliament building is not the true face of the European Republic of North Macedonia, a NATO member state. Protests are a democratic right of every citizen, but violence can never be justified. I strongly condemn the attack on the police officers, who were up to the task last night, professionally protecting citizens and state institutions," PM Kovachevski wrote on Facebook on Wednesday. Violence and hatred are not, and cannot be, a solution to any problem, he added. "I will say to the instigators of the protests - do not manipulate and abuse young people to satisfy your political appetites." “Your scenario last night resulted in over 40 injured police officers and over a dozen arrested. April 27 will not happen again,” Kovachevski wrote.
