Kovachevski - Spajić: North Macedonia and Montenegro intensively preparing, demonstrating readiness for EU membership

Kovachevski congratulated Spajić on his election as Prime Minister of Montenegro, wishing him success and expressing hope for excellent cooperation to the benefit of both countries. Kovchčevski expressed satisfaction that Spajić made his first visit to North Macedonia after assuming the post of Prime Minister of Montenegro, which, he noted, "speaks of the closeness of our countries", the Government said in a press release.
The two exchanged views on the overall bilateral relations, noting that there are no open issues in the "traditional partnership and friendly relations" of the two countries.
As NATO allies, North Macedonia and Montenegro share an identical foreign policy goal - membership in the European Union, and on that path they are ready to work together in achieving the criteria and standards for membership, reads the press release.
Finance Minister Fatmir Besimi and Minister of Labor and Social Policy Jovanka Trenchevska also attended the meeting.
