Kovachevski says Minister of Local Self-Government only one to be replaced
Skopje, 3 October 2022 (MIA) – Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski said Monday the Minister of Local Self-Government will be the only one to be replaced in the Government’s Cabinet.
“The only change will be made in the Ministry of Local Self-Government, considering the minister has resigned. There is no other plan, nothing else,” PM Kovachevski told reporters.
On the timing of the new minister’s election, Kovachevski said this is in the jurisdiction of the Parliament while voicing satisfaction over the nomination of Risto Penov by the Liberal-Democratic Party (LDP), after party leader Goran Milevski steeped down from the post Minister of Local Self-Government.
The PM praised Penov by saying he was not only one of the best mayors of Skopje but also in the country.
The Parliament said today that Milevski’s resignation has still not arrived and it could be confirmed at a session scheduled on October 17 if submitted by the end of this week. If the letter of resignation is accompanied by the nomination of a new minister, then the appointment procedure could be completed on the same day.
