Kovachevski receives EC’s 2022 Progress Report
Skopje, 12 October 2022 (MIA) — Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski received the European Commission’s 2022 Progress Report on North Macedonia from EU Ambassador David Geer, according to an official press release.
Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs Bojan Marichikj and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bujar Osmani also attended the meeting, which focused on the report and the expectations for the European integration of the country and its readiness.
Prime Minister Kovachevski thanked the European Union for recognizing the country’s progress in several areas. He said the government would carefully review the report and its recommendations on which areas to work on.
He stressed that the Republic of North Macedonia remained strongly committed to the implementation of the reform processes and the full alignment of its laws with the European legislation.
Kovachevski also pointed out that the government’s strategic goal was for the country to become a full member of the European Union, a process which started this summer and is expected to end by 2030. mr/
