Skopje, 16 March 2023 (MIA) - Ethnic affiliation is not a profession, all those who meet criteria acquired through knowledge, experience and commitment can serve as Prime Minister. We had a PM who was Vlach and he was successful in the post. Therefore, I think this issue was closed three years ago, says Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski.
PM kovachevski told Sitel the issue of early elections has been closed and that 2024 will first see presidential and afterwads regular parliamentary elections.
He believes the Przhino-style government (100-day caretaker government tasked with administering elections) is not necessary in a NATO member-state and a country negotiating EU accession.
"This type of government was agreed after difficult negotiations, amid a captured state, when it was revealed that state institutions are abused by politics. A country that is a NATO member, has opened EU accession negotiations and chairs OSCE, a state that currently serves as a factor of stability on the Balkans, should not have such government," says Kovachevski.
