Kovachevski - Nehammer: Austria a strong economic partner, supporter of North Macedonia's European integration
Vienna, 20 April 2023 (MIA) - North Macedonia and Austria have excellent political, economic and security cooperation, Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski and Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer told a joint press conference in Vienna on Thursday.
Earlier on Thursday, Kovachevski, who is paying a two-day working visit to Austria, held a tête-à-tête meeting with Nehammer.
The two exchanged views and information on current developments and challenges faced by European countries, as well as the consequences of the economic and energy crisis.
PM Kovachevski briefed the Austrian Chancellor on the current political developments in North Macedonia, expressing satisfaction with the screening process and the reform process in the country.
Kovachevski thanked Nehammer for Austria's overall support to the accession negotiations process, as well as the strong support that North Macedonia receives both in terms of economy and in terms of security. Austria is a strong and vocal supporter, partner and advocate for the European integration of North Macedonia and of the Western Balkan countries, stressed participants in the meeting.
