Kovachevski: MPs have obligation to make decisions for a better future

Skopje, 3 August 2022 (MIA) – Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski believes MPs will recognize the European idea and vote for amendments to the Constitution.

“In the vote on the conclusions on the European proposal from the European Council regarding the start of the country’s negotiations with the European Union, every MP freely expressed their will. The same should be the case with the constitutional amendments, because it is about including additional parts of other nations in the preamble of our Constitution. It increases homogeneity, increases the capacity of the state,” PM Kovachevski said in an interview with Kanal 5 TV.   He noted that every MP, regardless of political or religious affiliation, has an obligation to the citizens to make decisions that mean a better future for this and future generations.   “Faster accession to the EU means faster economic development, greater social justice and greater development of all other segments of society following the example of European countries,” the PM stressed.
