Kovachevski: Kosovo–Serbia deal key for Balkans' faster progress toward EU

Ohrid, 19 March 2023 (MIA) — Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski welcomed the agreement on the implementation annex for normalizing relations between Kosovo and Serbia reached in Ohrid late Saturday night, highlighting it was a significant achievement and that peace, reconciliation and economic development were key prerequisites for the entire Western Balkans to progress faster toward the EU.
Prime Minister Kovachevski said he was proud he and his team had hosted this important negotiation process under the auspices of the EU and with the support of the United States.
“I would like to congratulate President [Aleksandar] Vucic and Prime Minister [Albin] Kurti on their courage and vision and wish all citizens of Kosovo and Serbia progress and success on their way to the EU.
“North Macedonia will always be a friend of all neighboring countries and we will continue on the path of European integration and strategic dialogue with the United States,” he said. mr/
