Kovachevski: French proposal on Bulgaria dispute arrives, broad consultative process next
Skopje, 30 June 2022 (MIA) – A proposal by the French Presidency over the dispute with Bulgaria has arrived following our intervention in Brussels. The official position will be made public after the proposal goes through the filters of all institutions, said Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski on Thursday. PM Kovachevski told a press conference that the consultative process will include the Government coalition, the President, the Parliament, the opposition, the civil society, the experts and the general public. “Let me reiterate and assure the citizens that we have a plan and strategy that is obviously producing results. Therefore, I urge all political stakeholders and the media to refrain from speculation and rely on official information coming from institutions. The process will be transparent and we will share all relevant details with the public and then take the final decision. As promised, we will make the decision on our future together and in line with the strategic interests of the country and its citizens,” said Kovachevski. According to him, the protocol arising from the Friendship Treaty is not a part of the negotiating framework.
