Skopje, 29 December 2023 (MIA) - The country must not repeat the mistake it made in 2008, when the former authorities decided to turn 2,300 years back in history instead of looking 100 years in the future. Instead of Europeanization of the country, we got fake antiquity. This was science fiction, a cultural, historical and financial engineering on a km2 area, said Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski on Thursday.

PM Kovachevski told a Q&A session in Parliament that as per the Negotiating Framework, the second Intergovernmental Conference will take place once the country adopted the constitutional amendments.

"We had a successful screening for a period of 15 months that has been confirmed by the EU. Today, we are proud of a country that is a NATO member-state, proud of a country negotiating with the EU, proud of a country that chairs the OSCE. Today we have no open issues with neighbors and have relaxed interethnic relations, an aspect that must be maintained," said Kovachevski.
