Kovachevski, Borrell and Lajčák arrive in Ohrid for upcoming Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue meeting 

Skopje, 17 March 2023 (MIA) - Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski, together with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission Josep Borrell and EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue, Miroslav Lajčák, arrived in Ohrid ahead of upcoming Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue meeting on Saturday in Ohrid, the government said in a press release.

Prime Minister Kovachevski is hosting the high-level meeting of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, which will be attended by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, and the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, held under the auspices of the European Union.

PM Kovachevski is set to meet late on Friday with the US Special Representative to the Western Balkans Deputy Assistant Secretary Gabriel Escobar and US Ambassador to North Macedonia Angela Aggeler.

Before the start of the dialogue, Kovachevski will meet Borrell and Lajčák, and will also hold tête-a-tête meetings with the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, and the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti.

“The Republic of North Macedonia was chosen as the host of this important meeting because it is an example of a country that solves all open issues with its neighbours in a peaceful and democratic manner, through dialogue and as a function of progress, a better future and a better standard of living for its citizens. The signed agreements - Ohrid, Prespa, as well as the Good Neighbour Agreement, are a confirmation of the permanent commitment to pave the way for the current and future development of the country through open dialogue. Five years later, North Macedonia is a factor of stability in the region, with developed and nurtured good neighborly relations and a respected partner of the international community,” reads the press release.
