Kovachevski: All capacities operational for successful management with ‘most difficult winter’
Skopje, 28 July 2022 (MIA) – All capacities are operational and we hope for a successful management with the most difficult winter. We are working to ensure the required crude oil quantities for national energy capacities and measures have already been undertaken regarding the heating facilities, said Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski on Thursday. “I said back in May this will be the most difficult winter and received criticism about it. This situation comes amid the war in Ukraine and the problems on the world markets related to the price hike of oil and electricity due to fear of shortages in Europe. We took this into account when drafting the Budget revision and secured EUR 76 million for new anti-crisis measures that are currently being prepared in consultation with chambers,” PM Kovachevski told a Q&A session in Parliament. On the rise of food prices, the Kovachevski said EUR 32 million have been allocated for increase of domestic food production. He added that the inflation, which has annually risen by about 9-10 percent, led to the rise of pensions and wages, along with the payment of all agriculture subsidies.
