Kovachevski – Vucic: Western Balkans’ EU integration is in EU’s interest

Ohrid, 18 March 2023 (MIA) — Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski welcomed to Ohrid the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic and wished him successful negotiations on the proposed agreement to normalize reltations with Kosovo as part of the European Union-mediated Belgrade–Prishtina dialogue.
According to a government press release, PM Kovachevski said open dialogue was greatly important for regional stability and security as well as for moving forward on the region’s European integration path.
“North Macedonia is the very example of a country that has solved all open issues with its neighbors in a peaceful and democratic way, through dialogue, aiming for progress, a better future, and a better standard of living for its citizens,” the release says.
At their meeting, Kovachevski and Vucic agreed on the importance of dialogue in preserving regional peace. They also stressed that the European integration of the countries of the Western Balkans was in the EU’s political, security and economic interest. mr/
