Skopje, 19 February 2023 (MIA) — Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski met in Munich with Wolfgang Schmidt, the Head of Germany’s Federal Chancellery and Federal Minister for Special Tasks, who expressed his support for the European integration of North Macedonia.

According to a government in a press release, they discussed the need for accellerating North Macedonia’s accession to the European Union. At the same time, they concluded that the European path of the countries of the Western Balkans is important for the stability and security of the region.

“The integration of the Western Balkans is also in EU’s strategic interest, especially amid the strong global polarization, primarily as a result of the military aggression against Ukraine,” the release says. mr/
