Kostadinovski: North Macedonia to host Balkan Constitutional Courts Forum in 2026

Skopje, 25 October 2024 (MIA) - Constitutional Court President Darko Kostadinovski and Judge Tatjana Vasikj-Bozadzhieva participated on Friday in a working meeting with members of the Balkan Constitutional Courts Forum.  

Participants in the meeting elaborated the Statute of the organization, and drafted plans for the structure of the Forum, its identity and influence in the states, the method of financing and establishing contacts to coordinate the activities of each court the Constitutional Court said in a press release. 

In addition, a decision was made for the Republic of Turkey to host the next annual meeting of the organization, and the Republic of North Macedonia to host the Balkan Constitutional Courts Forum in 2026. 

Presidents and judges of the constitutional courts from the Balkans, who are members and observers within the organization, including representatives from the courts in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Turkey, Albania, Kosovo, also participated in the meeting.

With today's meeting, the delegation from the Constitutional Court of the Republic of North Macedonia wraps up its participation in the Second Annual Meeting of the Balkan Constitutional Courts Forum.

As part of this event, the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Constitutional Court in Kosovo was also marked in Pristina.
