Kostadinovska-Stojchevska: Macedonian identity code is inscribed in Macedonian literary works

Skopje, 23 April 2023 (MIA) - When we celebrate books and the importance of copyright, we highlight Macedonian, as well as world literature, the need and importance to read and write in our own language, to translate our works into the languages of the world. This leads to greater awareness of cultural and national identity and strengthening of cultural values, making us more competitive in the global world, Minister of Culture Bisera Kostadinovska-Stojchevska said congratulating World Book and Copyright Day - April 23.

The Minister of Culture recommends the scientific paper "Macedonian visual identity: Design as an opportunity for evolution of traditions from the visual cultural heritage" by author Gordana Vrencoska.

"On World Book Day, when we celebrate the wealth that books bring to our life, the knowledge, information, entertainment, the means by which we understand the world more easily, I recommend the scientific paper "Macedonian visual identity: Design as an opportunity for evolution of traditions from the visual cultural heritage" by author Gordana Vrencoska. The paper explores the Macedonian visual "genetics" and cultural traditions and is proof that the written word remains a force in realizing many ideals," said Kostadinovska-Stojchevska.

In this lively process, she adds, we remain consistent with respect for the mother tongue, respect for diversity, and we continue to promote works from Macedonian culture as well as the culture of all languages, keeping pace with the global tendency - for literature and culture to become a common global public good.

"I congratulate World Book and Copyright Day to all writers, publishers, publicists, literary critics and creators in the field of literature, in the hope that you will always be inspired to give beautiful Macedonian words that will conquer readers all over the world. The Ministry of Culture will continue to support you, with an effort to increase support by the year," Culture Minister Bisera Kostadinovska-Stojchevska said.
