Strumica, 28 October 2024 (MIA) - The Food and Veterinary Agency (FVA) analyses have confirmed that the water from the water supply network in Strumica is safe for drinking, the Mayor of Strumica Kostadin Kostadinov says.
In his post on Facebook, he states that the tests from the FVA, three accredited private labs, and the Strumica Public Health Center have refuted the findings provided by the Public Health Institute.
“The analyses from the Food and Veterinary Agency, three accredited private labs, and the Strumica Public Health Center have refuted the findings of the Public Health Institute, which have caused concern for all of us as residents of Strumica,” reads Kostadinov’s post.
He thanked the individuals at the FVA who authorized the lifting of the ban.
"It remains to sit down again with the relevant institutions and find a solution for the issue of the Turija dam," wrote Kostadinov.
A month ago, the drinking water in Strumica and six nearby settlements was banned for use due to higher concentrations of manganese, and the latest measurements showed an increased presence of coliform bacteria.
