Sofia, 7 June 2022 (MIA) – Bulgarian Prime Minister Kiril Petkov welcomed the identifying of the perpetrator of the arson attack at the “Ivan Mihajlov” cultural center in Bitola. Petkov thanked the authorities in the Republic of North Macedonia and Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski for their effective action in arresting the arsonist in the soonest possible time, MIA’s Sofia correspondent reports. “We’ll certainly not give in to provocation aimed at sabotaging relations with our neighbors,” PM Petkov posted on the Facebook page of the Bulgarian Government. Media outlets in Sofia reported about the arrest over the fire at the “Ivan Mihajlov” center in Bitola over the weekend, which was announced earlier on Tuesday by North Macedonia’s Minister of Interior Oliver Spasovski, citing the Minister’s statement that the offender admitted to committing the act.
