Kavadarci, 2 January 2024 (MIA) — The Kavadarci Food Bank over the holidays distributed food packages to vulnerable members of the community, MIA's Kavadarci correspondent reports.

"We distributed 120 packages per month in 2023," the food bank said, noting that the 1,400 packages in total contained 45 tons of food.

The Kavadarci Food Bank was founded five years ago. Since December 2018, it has distributed 7,000 packages or 155 tons of food.

Welcoming donations from across the food industry, the Kavadarci Food Bank urges food manufacturers, produce growers, restaurants and grocery stores to donate their surplus food so it could redistribute it to people in need. mr/
